Wonder Labs

Project-Based Units That Grow the Whole Child

Welcome to the Wonder Lab…

The Wonder Lab is not a full-year curriculum. Instead, it’s something better—a growing library of stand-alone, project-based learning units that let you build your own curriculum, one Wonder at a time.

Perfect for homeschoolers, microschools, or afterschool enrichment, Wonder Lab gives you the freedom to choose what lights your child up—and go deep.

What is in a Wonder Lab:

  • Each Wonder Lab unit includes:

    • A Big Question to guide exploration
    • A chapter book to deepen understanding and literacy
    • A culminating hands-on project
    • Integrated lessons in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Music, Movement, and more
    • Mindfulness & Social/Emotional learning built into each unit
    • Nature-based connections and sensory learning
    • National Leaerning Standards (from the USA) are written next to each task so you know exactly what skills are being covered
  • Each Wonder Lab unit is designed to take 4–6 weeks depending on your pace and your child’s engagement level.

You’ll spend about 10–15 hours per week, which includes reading, experiments, creative projects, nature time, movement-based activities, and academics.

There’s no set schedule—you decide how and when to dive in.

Choose Your Adventure!

Our vision is to offer a wide variety of Wonder Lab units that families can mix and match throughout the year—based on interest, season, or learning goals. You can build your own custom curriculum by choosing the units that work best for your child.

Each unit stands alone, but together they create something truly magical: a personalized, joyful education rooted in curiosity, wonder, and connection.

Wonder Lab Options

One is available now, with two more being available by August 2025.

How Do Animals Survive Where They Live?

Explore how animals survive in the wild through hands-on projects, The Wild Robot book, and joyful wondering. Covers all core subjects—plus social-emotional learning—for a whole-child experience. This provides 4 to 5 weeks of curriculum. Below are the different projects your child can choose from in this Wonder Lab.

  • Build a Survival Shelter – Design and construct a model shelter inspired by Roz’s island. Kids test materials and structures to create a cozy space that can withstand the elements.

  • Write a Survival Manual – Become the author of a guidebook for surviving in the wild. Kids write chapters with tips on shelter, food, safety, and animal communication.

  • Create an Adaptation Zoo – Design a mini-zoo or museum exhibit showcasing how animals and plants adapt to their environments. Kids research real adaptations and craft engaging displays.

  • Invent-a-Creature – Imagine and build a brand-new animal or plant that could survive in Roz’s wild world. Kids create a species profile, build a model, and explain its survival traits.

  • Trailblazer’s Path – For learners who want to design their own project, this option allows full creative freedom while still exploring the Big Question: How do animals survive where they live?

  • Kids ages 7-8. (Eventually the lab will grow to add further grades)

When Will This Be Available?

What is Project-Based Learning?

  • Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a hands-on, minds-on approach where kids explore a Big Question through inquiry, creativity, and real-world application.

Instead of worksheets and lectures, Wonder Lab invites your child to:

    • Ask meaningful questions
    • Explore topics through experiments, storytelling, and research
    • Build, create, and present a culminating project that shows what they’ve learned

Think: building a survival shelter after studying ecosystems… or designing a working farm after reading Charlotte’s Web.
